Add and manage service locations

Last updated July 23, 2026

Use service locations to keep each work site’s address, contacts, history, equipment, memberships, and notes connected to the correct customer.

Common uses

  • Add a second home, rental, commercial site, or managed property.
  • Save site-specific contact information for the field team.
  • Add a missing work address without leaving New Job.
  • Review or update the work and contact details for an existing site.

Before you begin

Confirm the customer already exists and have the location name, complete address, and any site-specific phone or email details ready. You need permission to add and update locations.

Open Add Location

Use either path:

  • Go to Customers, open the customer, then click Add Location in Locations.
  • In New Job, select the customer and click Add Location under the location list.

The customer record shows every saved site and identifies the primary location.

Add a location

  1. Click Add Location.
  2. Enter a clear location name that staff will recognize.
  3. Enter the street address and complete the city, state or province, postal code, and country.
  4. Choose the location type when prompted.
  5. Add a contact person if someone different handles access at this site.
  6. Add site-specific phone numbers and email addresses when needed.
  7. Review the address and contact details.
  8. Click Add Location.

Use location contacts for information that applies only to this work site.

Review and update a location

  1. In the customer’s Locations section, click the site.
  2. Confirm the location name, Residential or Commercial type, contact, and address in the header.
  3. Click the edit icon beside the location name.
  4. In Location Details, update Location Name, Location Type, Contact Person, address, or Location Tags.
  5. Open Contact Methods to update phone numbers, email addresses, primary contacts, and notification preferences.
  6. Click Save Changes.

From the location record, open Actions to choose New Job, New Estimate, New Form, or Sell Membership. Review the site’s jobs, invoices, estimates, attachments, calls, equipment, memberships, and notes before creating more work.

What happens next

The new or updated site appears in the customer’s Locations section and during booking. If it was added from New Job, Nexus selects it so you can continue entering job details.

Troubleshooting

Add Location is not available

Confirm you can manage customer locations. If the button is missing in New Job, select a customer first.

The new location does not appear

Close the panel only after saving, then refresh the customer record. Search the location list by its address before adding it again.

A location cannot be deleted

The primary location cannot be deleted. Keep the primary site, or first correct which saved site should serve as the customer’s primary location.

The address cannot be found

Enter the address manually and double-check the postal code. Use a recognizable location name so the site is easy to distinguish later.
