Enter job details

Last updated July 23, 2026

Complete Job Details to classify the request correctly and give scheduling, dispatch, and reporting the information they need.

Common uses

  • Route work to the responsible business unit.
  • Apply the correct job type, duration, and required questions.
  • Attribute the request to a marketing campaign.
  • Record urgency, lead context, and customer-specific answers.

Before you begin

Select the customer and service location first. Your company should already have the needed business units, job types, and marketing campaigns.

Open Job Details

Go to New Job, complete Customer Selection, then scroll to Job Details.

Complete Job Details

  1. In New Job, scroll to Job Details.
  2. Select Business Unit.
  3. Select Job Type. This choice is unavailable until a business unit is selected.
  4. Select Marketing Campaign.
  5. Choose Priority: Low, Normal, High, or Emergency.
  6. Complete any fields under Custom Fields.

Choose the business unit first because it controls which job types are available.

If an approved option is missing, use + Create New Job Type or + Create New Campaign only when your role allows configuration. Otherwise, ask an administrator to update the related setup.

Add lead information

  1. Expand Lead Information.
  2. Enter Summary / Notes for the request.
  3. Choose Lead Status when the opportunity needs qualification or follow-up.
  4. Enter Lead Source when it adds useful detail beyond the campaign.
  5. Enter Estimated Value when your process uses it.

Use customer-facing facts and clear internal context; avoid unnecessary technical shorthand.

Customer notes and site conditions may help you answer these fields. See Add customer and location notes and tags.

What happens next

The selected job type and location allow Get availability to recommend appointment options. The details also follow the request into the job, lead, or estimate you create.

Troubleshooting

Job Type is unavailable

Select Business Unit first. If the expected job type is still missing, confirm it is active and connected to that business unit.

Book Job highlights required fields

Return to Job Details and complete every highlighted field, including required custom fields and Marketing Campaign.

The correct campaign is missing

Click Refresh Data in Quick Actions. If it still does not appear, ask an administrator to confirm the campaign is active.
