Find and review an estimate
Last updated July 23, 2026
Purpose and common uses
The Estimates workspace brings company proposals into one searchable list. Open an estimate to review its customer, service location, name, summary, items, profit, expiration, notes, activity, and communications.
Before you begin
You need Estimates access. To create a new estimate, start from a job or the New Job workflow so the correct customer and location are connected.
Find an estimate
- Click Estimates in the main navigation.
- Use Search estimate, customer, location, or status.
- Review the Estimate, Customer, Status, Issue date, Expires, and Total columns.
- Click the estimate number.
Search by estimate, customer, service location, or status, then open the estimate number.
Review estimate details
- Confirm the estimate number, status, and created date in the header.
- On Details, review Customer Information for the Bill To and Service Location.
- Review Estimate Details, including Name and Summary (Optional).
- Review Line Items, then compare Subtotal, Costs, Estimated Profit, Tax, and Total.
- In Summary, confirm Status, Total Amount, Costs, Estimated Profit, Valid Until, and Last Sent.
- Review Notes for internal context.
- Open Activity to see the timeline.
- Open Communications to review estimate follow-ups.
The estimate detail page keeps customer context, pricing, status, and follow-up history together.
To edit the estimate name or summary, click its edit control, update the field, and save or leave the field after the change is accepted. Use the expiration-date edit control in Summary when the proposal needs a new Valid Until date.
What happens next
After reviewing the record, you can add line items, preview and send it, or mark it as accepted and convert it to a job.
Troubleshooting
No estimates are listed
Clear the search. If the list remains empty, confirm your role includes Estimates access and that estimates have been created for the company.
Estimate not found appears
Return to Estimates and open the record from the list. The estimate may have been deleted or the saved page address may no longer be valid.
Customer or location is wrong
Do not send the estimate. Return to the related job or request and verify the customer and service location, then recreate or correct the estimate according to your company's process.
