Use Marketing and attribution
Last updated July 23, 2026
Marketing in Nexus connects the source of a customer request to the work and revenue that follow. Use campaigns during booking, then review attribution to understand which channels are producing leads, calls, jobs, and paid invoices.
Before you begin
Create a consistent campaign list with campaign names, types, sources, budgets, and tags. Ask booking staff to choose the campaign that directly generated each request.
Create and use a campaign
Go to Settings → Core Data → Campaigns.
- Search for an existing campaign before adding one.
- Click New.
- Enter the Name.
- Choose the Type and Status.
- Enter the broader Source.
- Add the Budget, Tags, and Description when useful.
- Click Create.
- In New Job, choose the campaign under Marketing Campaign before selecting Book Job, Save as Lead, or Create Estimate.
Use one campaign consistently so performance is not split across duplicate names.
Open Campaign performance
Go to Marketing → Attribution.
- Review the page heading Campaign performance.
- Choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days.
- Click Refresh when recent activity is not yet shown.
- Review Revenue, Leads, Calls, and Jobs.
- Compare results by Google and Meta when those advertising connections are available.
- Review the campaign table for conversions and attributed revenue.
Attribution can only show what has been captured. A blank or “Not available” state may mean advertising connections are not active or the selected period has no qualifying activity.
Review conversion activity
- Scroll to the conversion-event list.
- Review the event type, platform, date, campaign, and amount.
- Follow any available job, lead, or invoice relationship.
- Confirm the record belongs to the expected campaign.
- Correct future booking habits or campaign naming when activity is consistently attributed incorrectly.
Use the event list to move from a summary total to the customer outcome behind it.
Keep attribution useful
- Use Source for the broad origin and Name for the specific campaign.
- Keep campaigns active only while staff should select them.
- Avoid creating a new campaign for a spelling or capitalization change.
- Review unattributed work regularly with booking staff.
- Use Marketing Connections to keep customer-selected advertising and profile connections current.
What happens next
Campaign selections travel with the related customer work, while connected advertising activity can appear in Campaign performance. Use Reporting to compare marketing results with operational and financial measures.
Troubleshooting
Campaign performance is empty
Expand the date range and click Refresh. Confirm campaigns are selected during booking and review Marketing Connections for the advertising source.
Revenue is attached to the wrong campaign
Open the related job or customer path and confirm which campaign was selected. Use the correct campaign for future work and avoid creating near-duplicate campaign names.
A campaign is missing from New Job
Return to Settings → Core Data → Campaigns, search for the campaign, and review its status. Refresh New Job after correcting it.
