Search across Nexus

Last updated July 23, 2026

Search helps you move directly to the customer, job, invoice, estimate, location, or page you need without opening each workspace first.

Use the header search for a quick lookup. Use Advanced Search when you want a dedicated results page and more room to compare matches.

Common uses

  • Open a known customer, location, job, estimate, or invoice quickly.
  • Compare several possible matches in the Advanced Search workspace.

Before you begin

Have one dependable detail ready, such as a customer name, phone number, address, job number, invoice number, or estimate number. Search only returns records your role can view.

  1. Select the search field in the Nexus header.
  2. Enter a customer name, phone number, address, job number, invoice number, or estimate number.
  3. Pause while matching results appear.
  4. Review the record type and supporting details so you do not open a similarly named customer or job.
  5. Select the correct result.

Quick search is best when you already know a distinctive name, number, or address.

  1. Select the magnifying-glass button labeled Advanced Search in the header. In sidebar navigation, select Advanced Search.
  2. Enter the strongest part of the record name or number.
  3. Review all returned record types.
  4. Refine the term if the list is too broad.
  5. Select a result to open the full record.

Advanced Search keeps a larger result set on screen, which is useful when a customer has several related records.

Choose an effective search term

  • For a person, start with the last name or phone number.
  • For a location, use the street number and street name.
  • For operational work, use the displayed job, estimate, or invoice number.
  • If punctuation produces no results, try the same value without punctuation.
  • When searching within Jobs, use that workspace’s filters for status, job type, business unit, technician, or date. See Find and filter jobs.

What happens next

Selecting a result opens that record. Use its links to continue through connected customer, location, job, estimate, or invoice information. Your search term remains useful if you return to Advanced Search.

Troubleshooting

The record does not appear

Check spelling and remove extra words. Search by a different reliable value, then confirm your role can view that kind of record.

Too many records match

Use a complete phone number, street address, or record number. For jobs, open Jobs and combine search with the available filters.

Search is missing from the header

Your role may not include search access. Ask a manager to review your access.
