Set up Nexus Phone Service

Nexus Phone Service provides company numbers for calling, texting, routing, and customer communications. Use this setup to activate service, choose the main company line, add numbers, and prepare business texting.
Before you begin
Complete Company Profile with the current company name, address, website, and phone details. Decide which number customers should recognize as the main line. Plan availability and number limits are shown in Nexus.
Open Phone Service
Go to Settings → Communications → Phone Service.
If Phone Service Required appears:
- Review the features and availability shown.
- Click Unlock Phone Features to begin the available plan change, or click View All Plans to compare.
- Complete the on-screen steps.
- Return to Settings → Communications → Phone Service.
After activation, Phone Service can include Phone Numbers, A2P Registration, AI CSR, Call Center, and Direct Lines.
The tabs and actions shown depend on the phone features available to your company.
Complete first-time setup
- Click Start Phone Service Setup or Start Service.
- Follow the prompts to find an available company number.
- Review the area code and full number.
- Confirm the selection.
- Wait for setup to finish.
- Return to Phone Numbers and confirm the line appears.
Choose the main company line
- Open Phone Numbers.
- Find Main Company Line.
- Open the number list.
- Select the number customers should recognize.
- Save when the page presents a save action.
The main line is the default company number for outbound calling. Keep Company Profile, your website, and printed materials aligned with this choice.
Add another number
- From Phone Numbers, review the number usage shown for your plan.
- Click Add Another Number.
- Search for and select the number.
- Confirm the setup.
- Find the new line in the number list.
- Open its three-dot menu to add a campaign, staff member, department, or receptionist routing choice.
Assign each number a clear purpose so staff understand how its calls and messages should be handled.
Complete Business Texting Registration
- Open A2P Registration.
- Click Start Registration.
- Enter the requested company information exactly as it appears on official company records.
- Review and submit the company step.
- Return to the tab and monitor the status.
- When the next action becomes available, click Register Campaign.
- Describe how customers agree to receive messages.
- Enter accurate example messages and the requested opt-in and help information.
- Submit the texting campaign.
- Return to A2P Registration until the page shows that texting is ready.
What happens next
Active numbers become available for calling, texting, notification, and routing workflows. Continue with departments and call routing and the Nexus receptionist.
Troubleshooting
First-time setup keeps appearing
Finish the number selection, then return to Phone Service and confirm the number is listed under Phone Numbers. Refresh once if the setup completed in another window.
Add Another Number is unavailable
Review the number usage and plan limit shown on the page. Also confirm your role includes Phone Service settings access.
Business texting is not ready
Open A2P Registration and complete the step identified by the current status. Submitted information may remain under review before the next action appears.
