Preview, download, and send an estimate
Last updated July 23, 2026
Purpose and common uses
Preview an estimate before sending so the customer sees the correct name, scope, option, line-item detail, total, and cover photo. Send by email or SMS from the estimate detail page.
Before you begin
Confirm customer contact information, line items, tax, total, expiration date, and customer-facing descriptions. Add job attachments only when they are appropriate for the recipient.
Open the estimate preview or download
- Click Estimates and open the estimate.
- Click Preview in the header.
- Review the cover, customer information, scope, visible line items, and totals.
- Close Estimate Preview and correct anything that is wrong.
- Click Download for a PDF, or open the three-dot menu and choose Download Worksheet for the internal worksheet.
Preview the customer-facing estimate before choosing a delivery method.
Send the estimate
- Click Send.
- Under Send via, choose Email or SMS.
- Select one or more Email Addresses or Phone Numbers. Add a custom contact when needed.
- Enter a Message (optional).
- For email, select other estimate options and Job Attachments when they should be included.
- Click Send Estimate.
- Return to Summary and confirm Last Sent.
Recipients are required. Email also supports selected estimate options and job attachments.
What happens next
The send appears in estimate activity and communications. Use follow-up communications to track the next contact, then mark the estimate accepted when the customer approves it.
Troubleshooting
Send Estimate is disabled
Select at least one valid recipient. For SMS, use a phone number; for email, use an email address.
The wrong items appear in Preview
Return to Line Items and review each material or equipment display setting. Hidden items can still affect cost and total.
An attachment is missing
Confirm it is attached to the related job, then reopen Send Estimate. Attachments are available only for email.
