Manage payment and integration settings
Last updated July 23, 2026
Payment Processing and Integrations settings control which payment choices and customer-selected third-party connections are available to authorized staff. Review existing use before changing or disconnecting anything.
Before you begin
Only authorized administrators should manage payment or integration settings. Confirm who owns the connected account, which Nexus workflows depend on it, and when a safe test can be performed.
Open payment and integration settings
Go to Settings.
- Expand Payment Processing for payment connections and payment types.
- Expand Integrations for connected third-party applications and account access.
- Use Search settings... to find the exact panel.
- Review connection status and any availability notice.
- Open the panel before taking action.
Review status and downstream use before reconnecting or disconnecting an account.
Review payment settings
- Open the payment-processing panel available to your company.
- Review whether payment acceptance is ready.
- Follow the setup or plan guidance shown when it is not available.
- Open Payment Types.
- Review the active payment methods staff can select.
- Confirm customer-facing labels and accounting relationships.
- Save any approved changes.
- Test a demo invoice payment.
If Square or another customer-selected payment option is connected, follow the named connection's on-screen account steps and verify the expected business.
Connect a third-party application
Supported customer-selected third parties can include QuickBooks, Sage, Google, Meta, or Square.
- Open the named integration.
- Click Connect.
- Sign in to the account your company selected.
- Choose the correct company, business, page, or profile.
- Approve the requested connection.
- Return to Nexus.
- Review the connected account name and status.
- Complete any mapping or default choices shown.
- Save.
Confirm the connected company or profile before saving mappings or defaults.
Reconnect, refresh, or disconnect
- Use Refresh when the connected account changed but access remains valid.
- Use Reconnect when access expired or the managing person changed.
- Use Disconnect only after reviewing invoices, accounting, marketing, or other workflows that use the connection.
After a change, run one controlled demo workflow and verify the result in both Nexus and the selected third-party account.
What happens next
Active payment types and connected accounts become available in the Nexus workflows they support. Availability, role access, mappings, and the source record all influence what staff can select.
Troubleshooting
Connect returns to the starting page
Confirm the third-party sign-in completed every approval step and that pop-ups are allowed. Reopen the named integration and try Connect again.
The wrong company or profile is connected
Use Reconnect, sign in with the correct managing account, and choose the intended company or profile. Refresh and verify its name.
A payment type does not appear on an invoice
Confirm the payment type is active and the payment feature is ready. Refresh the invoice and review your role's payment access.
