Complete a job

Last updated July 23, 2026

Complete a job only when its field work and office review are finished. Job completion closes the overall work record; it is separate from changing one appointment’s status.

Common uses

  • Close work after all planned visits are finished.
  • Confirm notes, forms, billing, time, and splits before the job leaves the open list.

Before you begin

Review every appointment, job note, form, attachment, estimate, invoice, timesheet, and split that your company requires. Confirm the job does not need another visit.

Open and review the job

  1. Open Operations → Jobs.
  2. Select the job’s Job ID.
  3. Confirm the customer, location, job type, and business unit.
  4. Review Scheduling & Appointments and update each visit’s status.
  5. Confirm the final Job Summary, tasks, forms, communications, and attachments.
  6. Review the Invoices, Estimates, and Financials sections.
  7. Use Edit Timesheets and Adjust Splits when required.

Use the job workspace as the completion checklist before closing the record.

Complete the job

  1. In Quick Actions, select Complete Job.
  2. Review any confirmation shown.
  3. Confirm the completion.
  4. Wait for the status to update to completed.
  5. Return to Jobs → Completed Jobs to verify the record is listed.

After completion, the button changes to Job Completed and cannot be selected again.

What happens next

The job moves from Open Jobs to Completed Jobs. Its customer, location, billing, time, and history connections remain available for review and reporting.

Troubleshooting

Complete Job is unavailable

Confirm your role allows completion and the job is not already completed. Review any unfinished appointment or required information.

The job is completed but one appointment is not

Review the job carefully and correct the appointment status if your role permits. Ask a manager for help when the completed job should be reopened or corrected.

Billing is not ready

Do not complete the job until your company’s required invoice and financial review is finished. Follow Create an invoice from a job.
