Reschedule an appointment
Last updated July 23, 2026
Reschedule an appointment when a customer or technician needs a different visit date or time. The visit stays connected to the same job, customer, and location.
Common uses
- Move a visit to a different date or customer-facing arrival window.
- Correct planned start, end, or duration information.
Before you begin
Confirm which appointment is changing, the new date, the customer-facing arrival window, and the planned working time. Let the customer know when your company’s process requires a separate update.
Open Edit Appointment
- Open Operations → Jobs.
- Select the job’s Job ID.
- Scroll to Scheduling & Appointments.
- Find the appointment by its current date and technicians.
- Select the appointment pencil.
Verify the visit before changing it when the job contains more than one appointment.
Change the schedule
- Set the new Appointment Date.
- Choose the Arrival Window promised to the customer.
- Set the planned Start Time and End Time.
- Review Duration and update it if the expected visit length changed.
- Review Assign Technicians for conflicts at the new time.
- Add or revise Special Instructions when the team needs context.
- Select Save Changes.
Arrival Window is customer-facing; Start Time and End Time represent the planned work period.
Verify the change
Review the updated appointment card, then open the Dispatch Board for the new date when you need to confirm placement with the technician’s other work.
What happens next
The appointment moves to the selected date and time in job and dispatch views. Other visits remain unchanged.
Troubleshooting
The time is wrong after saving
Reopen Edit Appointment and compare Appointment Date, Arrival Window, Start Time, End Time, and Duration. Correct the mismatched field and save again.
The technician cannot make the new time
Update Assign Technicians in the same dialog or follow Reassign technicians.
The visit does not appear on Dispatch
Confirm the Dispatch date and business unit filters, then check that the appointment saved successfully.
